Lochcarron of Scotland's range of tartan ties provide a stylish addition to any outfit.
Made with 100% pure new wool tartan fabric, the MacThomas Ancient is a bright green-based tartan with shades of blue and purple.
The MacThomas clan originated in the 15th century, descending from Thomas, a grandson of William Mackintosh, chief of Clan Mackintosh. Initially based in Badenoch, the clan moved eastward into Glen Shee and Glen Isla in Perthshire due to internal disputes. Known for their fierce loyalty, they supported the Jacobite uprisings of 1715 and 1745. Following defeat, many clan members dispersed, emigrating or integrating into nearby communities. Today, the MacThomas clan retains a presence in Scotland, particularly around Glen Shee, maintaining its heritage through clan gatherings and historical preservation efforts.
