Made with 100% pure new wool tartan fabric, the Gretna Green is a colourful green and blue-based tartan.
Gretna Green became famous for runaway marriages when "irregular" marriages were banned by law in England in 1753. Couples were able to run to Scotland and become legally married by proclamation in front of two witnesses. The Gretna Green tartan reflects the twin influences of this history and the powerful border clan Johnstone, so influential in this area of Dumfriesshire, on which this tartan is based.

Lochcarron's tartan ties are made with 100% Pure New Wool tartan, weaved in the heart of the Scottish Borders.

As these ties are made with 100% pure new wool, they are Dry Clean Only.

I wanted something to remember my marriage at Gretna Green but sadly they didn't have any for sale at the on-site shop, but found one here. It is a beautifully made tie and I love it
