Measuring Guide: Highland Dancing Kilts

Measuring Guide: Highland Dancing Kilts

See our Measuring Guide for more information.

To ensure the perfect fit for your Highland Dancing kilt, follow these steps:

  • Waist Measurement: Measure around your natural waistline, typically just above your navel (around 2inches above belly button). This is where the kilt will sit.
  • Hip Measurement: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, typically the widest part of your bottom. Make sure the measuring tape is level all the way around as you do this.
  • Length: While wearing dancing shoes if possible, measure from your natural waistline (the first measurement) down to just above your kneecap. This determines the proper length of your kilt.

For best results, use a flexible tape measure and stand naturally. If you're between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size for comfort.

In the measurement options on our Highland dancing products, you can also pick:

  • "I'll decide later" - this lets us take your order into our system, but we will await measurements before we start. You may pick this option if you haven't measured at the time of ordering.
  • "I need help to decide" - this option tells us you need help with the measurements, so when we receive your order, we'll get in contact with you to discuss measuring and guide you through the process.
